A team of Uzbek doctors, along with a shipment of humanitarian aid, has arrived in Balkh province.
The governor of Uzbekistan’s Surkhandarya region, who traveled to Hairatan port to deliver this aid, stated that in addition to the supplies, the President of Uzbekistan has dispatched a team of doctors to Balkh province to provide medical services to underprivileged patients.
The shipment includes medicines, flour, oil, meat, and macaroni, all sent to Balkh province.
Alougbek Qosimov, the governor of Surkhandarya, remarked: “Today’s aid differs from previous Uzbek humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan. Uzbekistan has not only brought humanitarian supplies today but also doctors, specialists, and medical equipment to provide services to patients in Balkh province. All of this has been done under the directives of the President of Uzbekistan.”
Meanwhile, the deputy governor of Balkh emphasized that Uzbekistan’s assistance signifies friendship between the two countries and stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations.
Noorulhadi Abuadris, the deputy governor of Balkh, commented on Uzbekistan’s aid: “Alhamdulillah, this team that has arrived here today is truly important. They will diagnose and treat needy and impoverished patients, which is a significant achievement for both provinces and governments.”
Sayed Ahmad Shadab, the deputy head of Balkh’s public health department, said: “My request to our Uzbek colleagues and their government is that this aid is not enough and must continue. We need more collaboration in the healthcare sector. We hope the doctors from both countries share experiences and provide health services to patients.”
The team of doctors, comprising 34 members, is scheduled to provide healthcare services in Hairatan port city for five days. Their specialties include general internal medicine, surgery, neurology, pediatrics, gynecology, ophthalmology, and dentistry.
