The Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan (ISRS), Eldor Aripov, stated that the country supports the peaceful and sustainable development of Afghanistan, the institute statement said.
The Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia to Afghanistan, Dato Ahmad Azam, during a meeting with ISRS director, emphasized that improving Afghanistan’s socio-economic recovery and its integration into interregional trade relations are an important factor in ensuring regional security in Central and South Asia.
The statement reads: “The Malaysian side was informed about Uzbekistan’s approaches to promoting peaceful and sustainable development in Afghanistan. As Eldor Aripov noted, the socio-economic recovery of Afghanistan and its integration into interregional trade relations are an important factor in ensuring regional security in Central and South Asia.”
“Malaysia and Uzbekistan are among the countries that consistently emphasize that the key to regional stability is achieving lasting peace in Afghanistan,” said Janat Faheem Chakari, a political analyst.
The Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia to Afghanistan, Dato Ahmad Azam, also stressed that the views of Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur regarding Afghanistan are similar.
The Ministry of Economy has also reported on the growth of economic relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan and has considered the role of Malaysia and Uzbekistan important in Afghanistan’s economic development.
Latif Nazari, the technical deputy minister of the Ministry of Economy, said: “Afghanistan’s relations with Malaysia and Uzbekistan are developing and progressing, and cooperation between Afghanistan and these two countries can help Afghanistan’s economic growth.”
“It is very important for these two countries to cooperate closely with Afghanistan to achieve their goals,” said Mohammad Aslam Danishmal, a political analyst.
Uzbekistan and Malaysia are among the countries that have good economic relations with the caretaker government. Previously, the Malaysian Prime Minister’s representative, during a visit to Kabul, had announced that Kuala Lumpur is striving to expand Afghanistan’s interaction with the world.
