In a press briefing, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that the US condemns last week’s attacks in the strongest terms. The attacks targeted both security personnel and ordinary civilians.
The State Department spokesperson claimed that 23 civilians were targeted in Musa Khel and that the Pakistani people have suffered greatly due to the actions of terrorists.
Matthew Miller emphasized that the US and Pakistan have a mutual interest in addressing regional security threats, and that the US stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism. He also mentioned that assisting Pakistan in addressing its energy shortage remains a priority for the US, and discussions with the Pakistani government on energy-related issues are ongoing.
Additionally, the spokesperson noted that the US will continue to enforce sanctions against Iran and advised those considering trade agreements with Iran to be aware of potential repercussions.
