The model G20 Summit organised by Tourism department Kashmir was attended by around 60 students from various universities of union territory. During the event, the students actively participated in deliberations and negotiations while representing their respective G20 countries. The discussions primarily focused on the Tourism Priority Areas, such as Sustainable Tourism Practices.

The Director of Tourism Kashmir, Faz-Lul-Haseeb, said that the purpose of organizing this model G20 Summit was to promote and give exposure to the students about the real G20 Summit, which is going to be held on 23 May at Srinagar. He added that this event was just a replica of the original G20 Summit and it was organized for promotional purposes.

The organizers of the event said that such initiatives will help the students understand the importance of global cooperation and the role of different nations in shaping the world economy and international relations. It will also provide them with a platform to develop their leadership skills.

The model G20 Summit was a great success, and it was highly appreciated by the participants. Such initiatives are essential to promote global understanding, cooperation, and harmony, especially at a time when the world is facing multiple challenges.

The Model G20 Summit served as a valuable platform for the participants to enhance their understanding of the workings of the G20 and the issues it addresses. It provided a unique opportunity for the participants to hone their negotiation and diplomacy skills, which are essential in today’s globalised world.

The opening ceremony of the event was presided over by Dr. Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary to the Government of J&K, Department of Tourism and Culture, who extended his congratulations to the participants for their valuable contribution to the prestigious event. He expressed his belief that this event would serve as a stepping stone for the younger generation, opening up more opportunities for them in the future.

The event was graced by several Government officials including Faz-Lul-Haseeb, Director Tourism, Kashmir, Javid Bakshi, Director, SKICC, Dr. Riyaz Qureshi, Coordinator, Department of Tourism, Hospitality, and Leisure Studies, University of Kashmir, Malik Waseem, Deputy Director Tourism, Kashmir (Recreation), Dr Deebah Khalid, Deputy Director, Tourism, Kashmir, Ahsan ul Haq Chisti, Deputy Director Tourism, Kashmir, Zeeshan Khan, Assistant Director Tourism, Kashmir , and faculty members from IUST and CUK. 

GDC Tral organizes seminar on G20 and Sustainable Development

Tral, Apr 28: The Department of Commerce, Government Degree College Tral on Friday organized a seminar on “G20 and Sustainable Development” with an objective to celebrate India’s presidency in G20.

The seminar commenced with opening remarks by Dr Showket Ahmad Dar, Head Department of Commerce who deliberated on the history of G20.

During his speech, he talked about how India can contribute to the global economy thereby contributing to global development.

Dr Showket also pinpointed how India’s G20 Presidency would be a watershed in her history as it seeks to play an important role by finding pragmatic global solutions for the well-being of all.

This was followed by an elaborate presentation on the theme by Dr Aamir Rashid Khan, faculty Commerce.  He highlighted the importance of sustainability in the current times.

Dr. Khan stressed that every initiative needs to be undertaken considering its possible impacts on the future. He highlighted how sustainability can go on to ensure a safe and secure future for the generations to come.

The event was followed by a question-and-answer session moderated by Aadil Rehman, Assistant Professor Commerce, who also proposed the Vote of thanks.
