Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested three OGWs and seized one Pistol and some mobile phones with incriminating material in North Kashmir’s Sopore.
A Police spokesperson said, “During a routine check at Fruit Mandi crossing on March 31, 2024, Sopore Police, along with 22 RR and 179 BN CRPF, observed suspicious behavior from three individuals attempting to flee. The trio were intercepted and apprehended.”
“They were identified as Faisal Ahmad Kachroo S/o Farooq Ahmad Kachroo R/o Baba Yousuf Sopore, Aquib Mehraj Kana S/o Mehrajdin Kana R/o Sangrama Sopore, and Adil Akber Gojree S/o Akbar Gojree R/o Kushal Matoo Sopore. Upon searching them, a pistol and mobile phones were recovered”, he said.
The trio failed to justify the contents of their phones, which contained incriminating evidence. A case has been registered under FIR No.68/2024 U/S 7/25 Arms Act and 13 UAPA Act at Police Station Sopore, with investigations ongoing.
