Balochistan’s capital Quetta city is witnessing an unprecedented security clampdown as Frontier Corps (FC) personnel have taken control of major areas following a serious security threat. Strict checking is being carried out on highways and residential neighborhoods, while mobile internet services have been suspended, limiting communication across the region.

Eyewitnesses report that helicopters have been conducting unusual aerial surveillance over the city, further intensifying the atmosphere of uncertainty. A local journalist, citing his sources, told the media that security forces are engaged in an operation aimed at neutralizing the threat. However, official statements on the nature of the threat and the ongoing operation remain scarce.

Meanwhile, Baloch activists and rights organizations have raised alarms over what they describe as mass arrests and enforced disappearances in the city. Since 6 PM, Quetta has effectively been under curfew, restricting the movement of residents. Concerns over human rights violations are growing as security measures continue to tighten.
