An Assistant Superintendent of Jail was shot and killed in a targeted attack in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, on Tuesday.
According to reports, unidentified assailants opened fire on Qasim Raisani while he was on his way to Jail Road, Quetta. He sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot.
Following the attack, the gunmen fled the scene, while police and law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Raisani’s body was shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have not yet determined the motive behind the killing, and as of the time of reporting, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
