Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran’s Ambassador and Special Representative to Afghanistan, stated that preventing the wave of Afghan migration and assisting the Islamic Emirate in combating terrorism were important topics at the Moscow Format meeting.
Iranian media, quoting Qomi, reported that neighboring countries gathered at this meeting to help Afghanistan in its fight against terrorism and to create conditions for the reconstruction of the country.
Kazemi Qomi said, “In fact, at the Moscow Format meeting, neighboring countries once again came together within a regional initiative to help Afghanistan combat terrorism and discuss how to create the preliminary conditions for the start of reconstruction and development of this country, thereby preventing a wave of migration.”
Amanullah Hotaki, a political analyst, said: “It is essential for Afghanistan’s interim government to maintain good relations with other countries, as we have necessities in the political, economic, and other fields, and we need to coordinate with these countries to solve challenges.”
According to this Iranian official, despite the ongoing international developments, especially in Palestine and Lebanon, Afghanistan remains a key regional priority.
Kazemi Qomi further stated: “One of the ways to overcome challenges and assist Afghanistan’s interim government and its people is by utilizing regional capacities and neighboring countries.”
Salim Paigir, another political analyst, said: “Terrorism is an international problem and must be fought at the international level. Regional and global countries can assist Afghanistan in this field.”
