A sit-in protest was held in Mastung on Saturday as the family of a missing youth blocked the Karachi-Quetta highway, demanding his release.

Local sources said that residents and relatives gathered near Nawab Hotel to protest the enforced disappearance of Kamran, son of Haji Mir Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, a resident of Killi Azizabad. Kamran was reportedly abducted near Major Chowk in Mastung by Pakistani forces on Thursday.

A day prior to the protest, Kamran’s father released a video message appealing for his son’s safe return. “I am calling on the authorities to bring my son back,” he said. “If he is not released, we will block the highway until justice is served.”

Following his warning, his family and other locals blocked the highway and began a sit-in protest. The demonstrators demanded the immediate safe return of Kamran and vowed to continue the protest until he is released.
