Pak Army have once again exposed their brutality by launching a violent crackdown on peaceful Baloch protesters in Hub. Women, children, and families of the disappeared, who have been staging a sit-in for four days, were subjected to baton charges and forceful arrests. Seema Baloch, Mazib Baloch, and several others were detained, with authorities refusing to disclose their whereabouts. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) Lasbela Region has strongly condemned the Army’s actions and announced a complete shutter-down strike in Hub on March 3, urging traders and the public to join the protest in solidarity with the victims.
The Balochistan Bar Council has also issued a scathing statement condemning the use of force against women and children. It slammed the worsening law and order situation in Pak-occupied-Balochistan, where unconstitutional abductions and road blockades have become routine under the Paki establishment’s oppressive policies. The council declared that the provincial occupying-government has failed completely, with corruption, plundering, and lawlessness at an all-time high. The people of POB have lost all faith in the judiciary as well, which has turned a blind eye to their suffering.
Brutality in Hub (POB)
The crisis of enforced disappearances has reached a boiling point, with families relentlessly protesting for the recovery of their loved ones. The Paki establishment, instead of addressing their demands, has chosen to suppress them with force. The military and intelligence agencies, which operate with impunity, continue their campaign of abductions, leaving families in agony. The sit-ins, road blockades, and continuous protests are a direct result of the Army’s failure and its refusal to acknowledge the plight of the Baloch people.
The Balochistan Bar Council and Baloch Yakjehti Committee have demanded the immediate release of all detained women and children and urgent action for the recovery of missing persons. However, given Pakistan’s long-standing policy of enforced disappearances and Army-sponsored repression, justice remains elusive. The Pak Army and intelligence agencies have turned POB into a war zone where civilians, especially women and children, bear the brunt of brutality.
