Mohsin Dawar, a leader of the National Democratic Movement (NDM) and candidate for National Assembly (NA) from North Waziristan severely wounded reportedly in Pakistani forces’ firing in Miranshah town of the Waziristan district.
According to reports, Mohsin Dawar and his party follwers were protesting against the delay of election results in front of the army CANTT in Miranshah, meanwhile, forces opened fire on the protesters which resulted in injuries to several people as well as Mohsin Dawar. Injured were immediately shifted to the hospital.
Mushtaaq Ahmed a member of the Senate of Jamaat e Islami in Pakistan, condemned the firing incident on the Mohsin Dawar and his supporters, he said the incident was downhearted and reprehensible and he prayed for the victims.
He further said that after Shangla this is the second incident where the blood of innocent people was shed in the legal protest against election commission rigging. “The Supreme Court of Pakistan must take notice of the terrorist acts of the government”, Ahmed said.
It is to be mentioned that earlier, last month, Dawar’s convoy was fired upon in the Miranshah Tapi area during the election campaign, Bullets hit the front and side windows of the vehicle. However, he remained unhurt due to his bulletproof vehicle.
