Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has stated that the country believes in diplomacy and seeks friendly relations with Afghanistan.

She emphasized that Islamabad is committed to engagement in all sectors, including security issues, with the caretaker government of Afghanistan.

“Pakistan believes in diplomacy, and we will continue to engage with the Government of Afghanistan to respond to any issues that arise along the border with Afghanistan,” according to Baloch.

She also commented on the closer ties between Kabul and New Delhi, stating that Pakistan respects Afghanistan’s development of relations with any country, but this development should not harm regional peace and stability.

“We respect the government and people of Afghanistan and their right to develop relations with any country. We hope and expect that development of bilateral relations between countries in the region should not undermine the objectives of  regional peace and stability,” Baloch said.

These remarks come as relations between Kabul and Islamabad have been tense due to recent clashes along the hypothetical Durand Line.

The Islamic Emirate has not commented on this issue so far but has consistently emphasized the importance of maintaining good relations with neighboring countries, including Pakistan.
