Mohammad Nabi Omari, the deputy minister of Interior, at the 2024 Global Public Security Cooperation Conference in China, dismissed the presence of al-Qaeda and ISIS in Afghanistan as unrealistic and said that Afghanistan’s soil will not be used against any country.
Omari emphasized at the meeting of interior ministers from 122 countries in China that there is currently nationwide security in Afghanistan.
The Deputy Minister of Interior added: “Afghanistan has been liberated from the occupation of American forces; there is no foreign or domestic war, Afghanistan is under a united authority, security is ensured in all 34 provinces, and people continue their daily activities in a safe environment.”
Omari also mentioned that the Islamic Emirate does not interfere in the internal affairs of any country and does not allow other countries to interfere in Afghanistan’s internal affairs. He said that the Islamic Emirate seeks good and positive relations with regional and global countries.
The Deputy Minister of Interior further said: “We want good and positive relations with all neighbors, regional countries, and all countries of the world in general. We do not interfere in the internal affairs of any country, nor do we allow anyone to interfere in Afghanistan’s affairs. Afghanistan’s soil will not be used against anyone.”
At the same time, some experts emphasize that the Islamic Emirate must seriously address countries’ concerns about the presence of terrorist groups in the country.
Jawed Momand, a political affairs expert, said: “Some countries support certain groups to achieve their interests. Efforts must be made in Afghanistan to prevent those who instigate proxy wars, whether they are countries or any groups, from being active here, because it is dangerous, and Afghanistan has had this experience.”
This comes as the world, particularly some neighboring countries, has always expressed concern about the use of Afghanistan’s soil against them, allegations that have always been denied by the Islamic Emirate.
