Pakistani security forces are carrying out an ongoing military operation in Mashkay, a tehsil in Balochistan’s Awaran district, with troops mobilizing via vehicles, motorcycles, and on foot.

According to local reports, the operation is targeting several areas, including Buzi, Khalklonk, Murmasi, Kalir, and Phuchir. Local sources have also claimed that members of “state-backed death squads” are accompanying military personnel during the operation.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the military activity.

This operation in Mashkay follows a series of recent military actions across Balochistan. A large-scale operation was recently conducted in Bolan and surrounding regions, with similar operations reported in Kalat and Mastung.

In Kalat, on September 7th, the Pakistani military claimed to have killed two individuals during a “clearance operation.” However, family members of the victims accused the forces of staging a “fake encounter,” alleging that their sons were forcibly taken from their home and executed. This incident has further raised concerns about the conduct of military operations in the region.
