Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha engaged in discussions today with the members of the Apex Committee for the Holistic Development of Agriculture & Allied Sectors in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Chaired by Dr.MangalaRai, former Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the committee deliberated on area-specific interventions and projects under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).
During the interaction, the Lt Governor commended the committed efforts of the UT Administration in effectively implementing HADP on the ground in Jammu and Kashmir. The committee members also had the opportunity to interact with Mr.Khuram Mir, a Horticultural Entrepreneur from Shopian, who shared insights into his endeavors and the private investments he has brought into the horticulture sector of the district.
The meeting, held at Raj Bhawan, was attended by prominent figures including Dr. Ashok Dalwai, CEO NRAA; Mr.AtalDulloo, Chief Secretary; Mr.Shailendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production Department; Dr. PK Joshi, Secretary NAAS; Dr. HS Gupta, former Director IARI; Dr. BN Tripathi, VC SKUAST Jammu; Dr.Nazir Ahmed Ganai, VC SKUAST Kashmir; and Dr. JP Sharma, former VC SKUAST Jammu.
Also present were Dr.Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lt Governor, and YashaMudgal, Mission Director HADP.
