After losing to all his neighbours and bowing to China, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to reach Ayodhya, the site of Babri Masjid.
Why did he choose 05 August 2020 for laying the foundation stone of Ram temple? This is the day last year when the Modi government repealed Articles 370 and 35A to occupy Kashmir, Ladakh, Galwan, Valley Daulatbeg Road, and other disputed areas. Since that day, India has imposed a total curfew, martial law and lockdown on the Kashmiris. Poor Kashmiris are being massacred. People all over the world, including Pakistan, are silent spectators. Despite a year of tyranny, the Modi government has not been able to silence the Kashmiris and the media reports from all over the world pour in saying that India has completely failed to suppress the “Kashmir Independence Movement”.
At a time when India is suffering a conclusive defeat along all its borders, including the one with Pakistan, why is it interested in building a Ram temple? With this, the Modi government is indicating that it is going to increase its atrocities on the Kashmiris and conveying to the Indian people that despite the defeat in the hand of China, India is a powerful country.
Pakistan is trying, in its own way, to paint a different picture. The ISPR has released a theme-song on the curfew, martial law and lockdown in Kashmir since 05 August 2019. In this song, Kashmiri children, old and young, are shown saying, “India, you go away from Kashmir.” But will such Condemnation ensure Independence of Kashmir? To liberate any region of the world, you require “sword” and “sacrifice” not songs and dance.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has urged the government to immediately start construction of a temple in Islamabad “to give a befitting reply” to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to lay the foundation of a Hindu temple at the site of historic Babri mosque in Ayodhya. The demand was made by PPP Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar as the official spokesman for party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in a statement issued by the party’s Media Office here on Tuesday. “The federal government should take urgent steps to remove all hurdles in the way of the construction of the temple in Islamabad and inaugurate its work on Wednesday (today),” he said. Mr Khokhar, who is also chairman of the Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights, said Pakistan should send a message to the world community that the people belonging to all religions enjoyed equal rights in the country.
