The fascist regime of Narendra Modi has violated the Fourth Geneva Convention and UN resolutions on Kashmir by illegally annexing Jammu and Kashmir pursuant to unconstitutional abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. India is changing the demography of Kashmir with a pernicious intent and treacherous plan. This is a well-crafted scheme for the exclusion and displacement of the local Kashmiris by settling the non-resident extremist Hindus. The potent voices are being raised at the international level against this illegal act of India and the Indian brutalization of the Kashmiris.
On the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his address to the United Nations General Assembly via video link regarded Kashmir as a burning issue and he emphasized resolving this issue for peace and stability in the region. The statement was welcomed by Pakistan, however, of course, it has caused outrage among Indian officials, who are used to getting away with bullying and pressuring other countries into silence or compliance. India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations T. S. Tirumurti called President Erdoğan’s remarks “gross interference” in the country’s internal affairs.
Indian Permanent Representative is absolutely wrong and is acting in sheer violation of UN resolutions because the state of Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory as per UN resolutions and not an internal matter hence it is an international issue, therefore, President Erdoğan rightly highlighted the Kashmir issue before the United Nations.
The fascism of Modi is being unveiled at the international level. The editor at large at The Time Magazine Karl Vick pointed out that Modi has trampled the secular image of the country where people belonging to various religions once lived with harmony and acceptance for each other. Under the circumstances, we need to accelerate this movement and mobilize world opinion against Indian atrocities incessantly being perpetrated against the defenseless Kashmiris by Indian occupation forces.
The state of Jammu and Kashmir enjoyed special status under the Indian Constitution until the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A on August 5, 2019. For this reason, the extremist BJP regime abrogated the said articles to ensure the implementation of their Hindutva policy. In April 2020, the Indian government notified new domicile laws and granted rights to non-Kashmiris for residency and jobs in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports at least 430,000 non-Kashmiris have been granted domicile certificates. This is another well-planned attempt to change the demography of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, which is in sheer violation of international law.
Professor Ashok Swain, a Hindu political analyst and a professor of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University Sweden, severely criticized the racist policies of Modi in a column. He believes that Modi has sacrificed Kashmir for his Hindutva policies and he explicitly unveiled the fascist and racist designs of Narendra Modi. He writes: “The unconstitutional repeal of Article 370 is a matter of celebration for the Hindu nationalists in India but it has not only brought unimaginable misery and loss of identity for Kashmiris but it has also caused irreparable damages to India’s reputation as a secular democracy”.
Presently, Kashmir Valley is seething with anger and helplessness. Any hope of a political deal bringing peace and stability has completely disappeared. Undoubtedly, the racism and the extremism of Modi have benefited to get the support of Hindu extremists but it has created instability in India and the region.

It seems pertinent to mention that even in India, the Hindus belonging to Indian National Congress and other secular fora have strictly condemned Modi’s undemocratic and racist policies regarding the State of Jammu and Kashmir. They are of the view that Modi has shrunken and tarnished the secular image of India and practically violates the fundamental human rights of the Kashmiris. Modi has introduced a “cult of hate” under his erratic, evasive and elusive demonic designs. He has destroyed the social fabric of Indian society and sown toxic seeds, which are enough for the dismemberment of Indian state.
It is pertinent to mention here that India is continuously orchestrating nefarious designs and policies against Pakistanis. The height of Indian brutality can be gauged by this grave incident that in July 2020, 11 Pakistani Hindus, including children and women, were mysteriously killed in Jodhpur, India. The members of Pakistani Hindu community from across the country staged a sit-in in front of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. The participants chanted slogans against Indian Prime Minister Modi and the BJP government. They refused to accept the false and fake Indian version that these people had committed collective suicide and demanded to provide them the postmortem report of the victims. The incident speaks volumes about the Indian atrocities against Pakistani nationals even if they are Hindus.
The veteran freedom leader Syed Ali Gilani in a tweet said: “Heartiest congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the Independence Day. May this fort of Islam emerge stronger from all the challenges and evil designs it is battling and may it continue to remain a source of strength and hope for all the oppressed Muslims around the world”.
A senior Indian National Congress leader Chidambaram and India’s prominent constitutional expert A. G. Noorani described the revocation of the Articles 370 and 35A from the Indian Constitution as a “catastrophic step” and an “illegal decision”, akin to committing fraud. In June 2018, purposefully a political void was created by reducing the government of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti into a minority and imposed governor rule. On August 5, 2019, Doval was the governor of Jammu and Kashmir, who maliciously imposed the decision of India on the hapless Kashmiris.
According to a senior journalist who is an Indo-Pak peace activist Chanchal Manohar Singh said: “That after almost a year, the resolve of all major parties in Jammu and Kashmir to reiterate the demand of the implementation of the Gupkar Declaration of August 4, 2019, has finally reflected the signs of dissent against the unconstitutional and unilateral abrogation of Article 370 and 35A”. Recently, seven British Lawmakers of the United Kingdom’s ruling party launched a group named “The Conservative Friends of Kashmir” to campaign for self-determination in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

On September 25, 2020, on the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in his virtual address to the UN General Assembly categorically observed that India is obliterating the distinct Kashmiri identity through illegal measures in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He condemned the unilateral decision of India and the violations of human rights by the Indian occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He also alluded to the nuclear crisis by professing that the UN should resolve the issue in the light of its resolutions.
It is highly sorrowful that India is carrying out ceasefire violations across the Line of Control (LoC) killing innocent Kashmiris on both sides of the LoC. There have been numerous sporadic flare-ups over the decades on the LoC and three wars that broke out between India and Pakistan over the issue of Kashmir. God forbid, a fourth war could lead to nuclear war. The world needs to understand that Jammu and Kashmir is a nuclear flashpoint between two nuclear-armed countries, therefore, it needs urgent attention and amicable resolution in accordance with UN resolutions on the Kashmir dispute.
