Eid prayer was held at the Arg (presidential palace) with the presence of several officials from the Islamic Emirate.
Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the prime minister of the Islamic Emirate, in his Eid al-Fitr congratulatory message, called on countries to engage positively and cooperate with the Islamic Emirate.
He stated that the interim government seeks to maintain good relations with countries and added that the world should focus on constructive engagement rather than imposing challenges, restrictions, and pressure.
Abdul Wasi Khadem, the chief of staff of the prime minister’s office, said: “We assure regional and global countries that Afghanistan will not interfere in their affairs. On the contrary, we seek good relations and interaction with all countries in line with Islamic principles and our national interests.”
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, deputy prime minister for economic affairs, in his speech during the Eid prayer ceremony at the Arg, also called on countries around the world to facilitate constructive political and economic engagement with the Islamic Emirate.
He emphasized that the Islamic Emirate is ready for all forms of interaction based on mutual respect.
He said: “The Islamic Emirate has proven to the world that Afghanistan is secure and has an economy-focused policy. It is ready for any kind of positive engagement within the framework of mutual respect.”
Abdul Salam Hanafi, the deputy prime minister for administrative affairs, congratulated all Muslims on Eid and called on citizens living abroad to return to Afghanistan and contribute to the country’s development.
He stated: “To those compatriots who left Afghanistan due to certain concerns, we urge you to return home. Afghanistan is our common home, and we must build it together.”
Meanwhile, former president Hamid Karzai and former chairman of the high council for national reconciliation, Abdullah Abdullah, also shared Eid messages, urging traders and wealthy individuals to help those in need.
