According to reports from some Pakistani media outlets, Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, during a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate of Pakistan said that he will travel to Afghanistan in a few days.
The main purpose of Ishaq Dar’s trip to Afghanistan has not yet been clarified; however, previously, border tensions and the issue of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were topics that led to strained relations between Kabul and Islamabad.
Part of the Pakistani media report said that Ishaq Dar once again claimed in response to a question that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is present in Afghanistan.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan said: “I will travel to Afghanistan in a few days. Afghanistan is our brotherly country. Unfortunately, the clues regarding the targeting of Chinese nationals in Dasu indicate the involvement of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and that this movement exists in Afghanistan.”
“Foreign ministers need to engage in mutual visits. When Ishaq Dar came here, Afghanistan’s foreign minister should visit there. This way, complex political issues can be resolved using the same political terminology, with the same political objectives, and political dialogue,” Sayed Ebadullah Sadeq, a political analyst, told TOLOnews.
“Meetings and visits can be effective. We must avoid criticism, and strategic talks should take place between the two countries so that we can ultimately reach a conclusion. However, regarding their claim about the issue of TTP, I believe this is beyond the authority of Pakistan and Afghanistan,” said Moeen Gul Samkanai, a political analyst.
Although the Islamic Emirate has not yet commented on Ishaq Dar’s trip and statements, it has previously denied the presence of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Afghanistan and support for this movement.
