At the Interpol meet in Delhi today, media asked a top Pakistani delegate whether underworld don Dawood Ibrahim would be handed over to India. Questions were also asked about handing over Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

Saeed and Dawood are among terrorists most wanted by Indian security agencies. These two are widely believed to be being provided safe asylum by Pakistan.

Pakistan, however, was non-committal. Mohsin Butt, the head of the country’s top security agency, avoided questions on whether these two most-wanted men would be handed over to India.

He refused to respond to queries on the whereabouts of Dawood and Saeed.

Butt, Director General of Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), is attending the 90th Interpol General Assembly meet as part of a two-member delegation from Islamabad. The Interpol Genereal Assembly meeting is being organised in India after a gap of 25 years. Delegates from 195 Interpol member countries are attending the meeting.
