Internet services have once again been suspended in Quetta and various other regions of Balochistan. Just a few days ago, mobile internet services were also disrupted in the province.
According to local sources, internet services, which were restored last night after six days of suspension in Khuzdar, Kalat, and Mangocher, remained active for only three hours before being shut down again.
Residents have expressed their frustration over the continuous internet shutdowns, stating that the lack of connectivity is severely affecting business activities, students’ online education, and other essential affairs.
Citizens have urged the relevant authorities to restore internet services permanently to prevent further disruptions and difficulties for the public.
So far, government institutions have not issued any official statement regarding the reasons behind the internet suspension. However, Baloch activists and local sources reported the reason being current mass protests across Balochistan against enforced disappearances and arrests of BYC leaders.
Residents argue that in the modern era, internet access is a fundamental necessity for economic and educational activities, and its unavailability is causing significant hardships for the people.
