Technology cooperation featured very prominently in the discussions between US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Vinay Mohan Kwatra informed this in a special briefing in Washington D.C. He said India and US have identified around 25 areas of technology partnership in the joint statement as a direct result of the discussion between the two leaders.

Mr. Kwatra informed that the Prime Minister highlighted the need for the international community to recognize that the people who sponsor and support terrorism continue to pose a serious challenge to the safety and security of societies and have to be very firmly dealt with.

The Foreign Secretary also informed that the two countries have agreed that the US will start the process to open two new consulates in India – one in Ahmedabad and one in Bengaluru, while India will open its consulates in Seattle and two other places in the US.
