The Indian National Flag is a symbol of national pride for the entire nation. To further honor our flag, the Hon’ble Home Minister who oversees all efforts under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav has approved the program of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’. It envisages inspiring Indians everywhere to hoist the national flag at their home.
Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building, The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness about our national flag.
The tricolour will be hoisted atop more than 20 crore houses across the country for three days next month under the central government’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
As part of the the programme, the tricolour will be flown atop the houses from August 13 to 15 through public participation while government and private establishments will also be involved.
Over 100 crore people will participate in the campaign to rededicate themselves to the service of Mother India. It will greatly contribute in inculcating a new sense of patriotism among people.
‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is a matter of pride for every citizen and during the last 75 years of Independence, not only have India’s democratic roots deepened, but the country is well placed in the global perspective from the developmental point of view.
‘Prabhat Pheris’ were a very important part of the country’s freedom struggle led by Mahatma Gandhi and therefore political parties, government institutions, NGOs and cooperatives should make ‘Prabhat Pheris’ succesful in their areas.
When children, the elderly, youth and teenagers together sing praise to Mother India, take out ‘Prabhat Pheris’ in villages with the tricolour in hand, then the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme will be successful on its own.
The campaign would be promoted through advertisements by state governments and chief ministers would request TV channels and local channels, and then they would also take this forward through small programmes.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has formed a committee to look after the effort on installing the tricolor in every house of J&K as a part of the Independence Day celebrations. It is a seven-member committee headed by the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Home Department. The initiative is in line with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav where India celebrates 75 years of Independence.
District administrations in J&K have assigned duties to various officers from various departments to facilitate the initiative. Specific nodal officers have been designated for the same.
Its main goal is to inculcate a sense of patriotism in hearts of citizens and raise awareness on the national flag.
