The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal today inaugurated a workshop on Digital Agriculture Mission at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi, Srinagar.
Addressing the participants, the Director highlighted the importance of digital agriculture and said the use of advanced technologies could play a big role in achieving the socio-economic transformation of the farming community of the region.
He said digital agriculture helps to improve crop yields and reduce environmental impact. He said that the digital agriculture mission aims to introduce new and advanced technologies in the field of agriculture.
Director asked the participants to work in close coordination so that the objectives under the said mission could be achieved. He marked the importance of awareness among the farmers regarding the mission for its successful implementation.
The programme was attended by Joint Director Agriculture, Mohammad Syeed Peer; Deputy Director Agriculture Planning, Mohammad Younis Chowdhury and Officers/ Officials of the department.
