Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Friday said that significant progress has been made in the construction of three mega flyovers in Srinagar, located at Nowgam, Sanat Nagar, and Bemina.

“The flyovers that are in the making, have been considered as a long-awaited project, which aims to improve connectivity, accessibility and also help ease traffic congestion in the key areas”, he said

Speaking with ANI on the connectivity and how it will ease the traffic flow, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said, “The work is in full swing….There is only one solution to traffic and that is to use public transport; it becomes our responsibility that public transport is reliable, have sufficient facilities, keeping that mind in mind we are also exploring river transport and how that can be integrated.

He further elaborated on plans for enhanced connectivity, stating, “The railway will also be connected. When it comes to connectivity, now there is two-way traffic, earlier, it was an up-convoy and down-convoy.”

The ongoing construction of these mega flyovers underscores a concerted effort by local authorities to address traffic challenges and improve infrastructure in Srinagar. With these developments, residents can anticipate smoother commutes and enhanced connectivity across the city.
