The Center has earned over 176 crore rupees from scrap disposal so far under the special cleanliness campaign 3.0. The campaign is being organised to improve Swachhata and dispose of pending references from the 2nd to the 31st of this month on the lines of the Special Campaigns held in 2021 and 2022. It focuses on field and outstation offices responsible for service delivery or having a public interface.
Briefing media in New Delhi on the mid-campaign progress of the campaign, Minister of State for Personnel Dr. Jitendra Singh said over 776 crore rupees of cumulative revenue has been earned in the last three years. The Minister talked about incentivising the garbage to spread awareness about cleanliness.
Dr Singh said, a large vehicle the size of a bus has been created which has been named Recycling on Wheels. He said, it recycles within a short span of time and brings out the raw material which can be then used in the paper industry and plastic industries. He added that it disposes off at the same time it creates wealth.
Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances V Srinivas said, that apart from earning a lot of revenue for the government, the campaign has resulted in cleaning up a number of office sites and also freeing up office space.
