The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a deadly attack that killed at least 11 Pakistani military personnel and injured 28 others in Khuzdar on Sunday morning. In a statement issued to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch stated that their fighters carried out the attack based on actionable intelligence.

The spokesperson revealed that the Special Tactical Operations Squad (STOS), a specialised unit of the BLA, conducted the operation following intelligence provided by the BLA’s intelligence wing, “ZIRAB.” The attack took place at Khori, approximately 60 kilometres from Khuzdar city, where a bus carrying Pakistani military personnel was targeted with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED). The remote-controlled blast completely destroyed the bus, resulting in significant casualties.

Among the deceased were personnel from the Pakistani Army’s Military Intelligence and Frontier Corps. The spokesperson clarified that the bus was solely transporting military personnel, with no civilians on board. According to ZIRAB’s intelligence, the vehicle, part of the “Pindi Coaches” fleet, departed from the Ghora Chowk bus terminal at 8:00 am, reached its cantonment destination by 8:30 am, and resumed its journey, arriving at Khori by 9:40 am, where it was struck by the VBIED.

The BLA further emphasised the professionalism and coordination between its Special Tactical Operations Squad and intelligence unit ZIRAB, attributing the success of the attack to their joint efforts. The group claimed full responsibility for the operation and reiterated its commitment to conducting further attacks against Pakistani forces.

This development marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict in the region. Pakistani authorities have yet to comment on the attack.
