The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a “pro-independence” armed group, has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks in Nushki, Kalat, and Gwadar, targeting security forces, construction company employees, and alleged informants.
In Nushki’s Zareen forest area, the BLA said its fighters carried out three coordinated operations on Thursday night. According to the group, they seized control of a Levies checkpoint and confiscated weapons and military equipment.
“BLA fighters captured a post of the occupying Pakistani Levies Force, confiscating weapons and military equipment. The personnel, being Baloch, were later released safely,” BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said in a statement.
In another operation on the same highway, the group’s fighters conducted snap checks on vehicles for over an hour. A third squad reportedly detained five employees of a construction company and set the company’s machinery on fire. “The interrogation of the arrested personnel is ongoing,” the BLA claimed.
In Kalat’s Mangocher area, the BLA said it killed an alleged informant of the Pakistani military who was “disguised as a madman” while gathering intelligence.
“Our intelligence wing, ZIRAB, had been monitoring this agent, who was operating a network of informants for the Pakistani army,” the group said, warning that others associated with the network would also be targeted.
In Gwadar, the group claimed responsibility for an attack on another alleged informant near Dhor Chowk. The BLA said the individual, who worked as a barber, was injured during the operation and accused him of providing information to security forces under the guise of his trade.
“The Baloch Liberation Army accepts responsibility for these operations and will continue targeting enemy forces and collaborators until Balochistan is free,” Jeeyand Baloch added.
