The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed on Friday that it carried out seven attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and officials across Balochistan’s Kolpur, Zehri, Zamuran, Kalat, and Hub areas.
In a statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group targeted military personnel, an Assistant Commissioner’s vehicle, a Deputy Commissioner’s office, and a police station. The group also claimed to have imposed a highway blockade and destroyed equipment belonging to what it described as an “exploitative” company.
According to the BLA, its fighters blocked the Kolpur highway from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, conducting snap checks on passing vehicles. Another BLA squad reportedly captured a Levies post, detaining four personnel who were later released “as they were Baloch.” The group said it confiscated three Kalashnikov rifles. A separate unit reportedly destroyed and set fire to machinery belonging to a construction company at the same location.
The BLA further stated it targeted the Assistant Commissioner’s vehicle with a remote-controlled IED in Zehri on Friday at sunset. The official had reportedly arrived with Quick Response Force (QRF) personnel from Khuzdar to inspect area checkpoints.
The group also claimed responsibility for an IED attack on 8 January, targeting Pakistani Army foot patrols in Zamuran’s Kuntgan area, allegedly killing one soldier.
In Kalat, the BLA said its fighters hurled a grenade at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Tuesday night, causing damage to the office building. Another grenade attack was reported on Thursday night, when BLA fighters reportedly targeted the main gate of a police station in Hub.
In a separate statement, Major Gwahram Baloch, spokesperson for the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), said BLF fighters attacked a Pakistani forces camp in Bal Nigwar, Dasht, on 9 January at 7 p.m. The BLF claimed one soldier was killed and two were wounded, describing the attack as part of its ongoing campaign for “an independent Balochistan.”
