The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced that Afghanistan will participate in the Istanbul International Exhibition, scheduled to take place in Turkey in one and a half months.
Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, the ministry’s spokesperson, added that the Istanbul Halal Exhibition is considered the third largest exhibition globally. He further stated that on the sidelines of this exhibition, business conferences, networking events, and other economic programs will also be held.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce elaborated: “This exhibition, which will be held from November 27 to 30, 2024, in Istanbul, Turkey, has officially invited for the first time the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and members of the country’s private sector to participate and showcase their products.”
Meanwhile, the Chamber of Commerce and Investment views Afghanistan’s participation in the Istanbul International Halal Exhibition as a valuable opportunity to expand trade and introduce the country’s products to global markets.
Mirzaman Popal, Acting Administrative and Financial Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said: “For Afghanistan’s export products, especially dried and fresh fruits, medicinal plants, carpets, handicrafts, and other locally produced goods, this is an opportunity to introduce Afghanistan’s exports to European markets.”
On the other hand, the Afghan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Union announced that a special carpet exhibition is set to take place on January 7, 2025, in Turkey, where Afghan carpet traders will also participate.
Noor Ahmad Noori, President of the Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Union, stated: “The exhibition scheduled for January 7 in Istanbul is exclusively focused on carpets and is very important. The Turkish Carpet Association is also very keen for Afghanistan’s carpet sector and Afghan carpet manufacturing companies to participate in this event.”
The Istanbul International Halal Exhibition will take place from November 27 to 30, 2024, in Istanbul, Turkey.
Last year, representatives from 125 countries, including 60 ministers of trade, as well as traders, industrialists, and investors, participated in this exhibition held in Istanbul.
