The Ministry of Industry and Commerce said that the Afghan-Kazakh exhibition is scheduled to be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from the 19th to the 22nd of October.
Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, said that a delegation led by the acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, along with 250 Afghan traders, will participate in the exhibition.
Afghan traders will showcase carpets, dried fruits, saffron, and precious and semi-precious stones at the exhibition.
Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad said: “In this exhibition, 69 companies from Afghanistan will participate in 80 booths, showcasing their products, including carpets, dried fruits, saffron, and precious and semi-precious stones.”
The Chamber of Commerce and Investment emphasized the importance of such exhibitions in Central Asian countries for increasing exports and creating new markets for Afghan products.
Khanjan Alokozai, a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, told TOLOnews: “Our exports to Central Asia reach nearly $100 million annually, but our imports are high. Imports are high because we need food, oil, gas, fuel, and wheat.”
Abdul Naseer Rashtia, an economic expert, said: “We are planning to hold a large exhibition of domestic products in Kazakhstan with the cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. The purpose of holding this exhibition is to create new markets for selling domestic goods.”
Meanwhile, last week, the third Imam Abu Hanifa exhibition was held in Kabul, where domestic and foreign traders showcased their products in 700 booths.
