The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced the visit of a delegation from the ministry to Iran.

Hekmatullah Asifi, the ministry’s spokesperson, stated that the purpose of the visit is to identify suitable locations for transit truck parks on both sides of the border and to develop transportation infrastructure.

Asifi, said: “This delegation will identify suitable areas for establishing transit truck parks between Afghanistan and Iran, particularly in regions such as Chabahar, to support the development of transportation facilities. This visit will help translate joint cooperation between the two countries into practical infrastructure development.”

Meanwhile, some analysts, citing the growing trade and economic ties between Afghanistan and Iran, consider this visit an important step toward improving bilateral transport relations.

Ismail Zadran, an economic expert, said: “Any country that helps Afghanistan in transit and land or air transport and maintains such relations is benefiting Afghanistan.”

Qutbuddin Yaqubi, another economic expert, said: “Frequent exchanges between Iran and Afghanistan can play a significant role in improving trade, economic ties, political relations, and regional stability.”

This visit comes as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce previously reported that trade between Afghanistan and Iran exceeded $3.3 billion last solar year.
