Reiterating the UT Administration’s resolve to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jammu Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated a series of transformative projects today, designed to enhance infrastructure and elevate the overall quality of life for the residents of Sopore.

Lt. Governor Sinha laid the e-foundation stones for the upgradation of inner link roads in Sultanpora Goshbugh and Auglar, with an estimated cost of Rs 6.29 crores. Additionally, he inaugurated the Water Supply Scheme Parihaspora and Peripheral Parihaspora under Jal Jeevan Mission, valued at Rs 57 crores.

Addressing the gathering, Lt. Governor Sinha stated, “Development is our commitment; it is our religion. The administration is determined to attend to the developmental needs of people without any discrimination.” He highlighted the significant progress made in various economic activities and transformative initiatives undertaken by the administration.

Lt. Governor Sinha reiterated the administration’s dedication to fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He acknowledged Sopore’s rich history of communal harmony and prosperity while recognizing the unique challenges it faces in achieving inclusive development.

Lt. Governor Sinha called upon the citizens to actively participate in the beautification and development of Sopore, which aspires to become a Smart city. He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to improve infrastructure and modern facilities for a better quality of life.

He also emphasized the government’s efforts to promote peace and prosperity in the region and urged vigilance against divisive elements in society.

Responding to the demands of public representatives, Lt. Governor Sinha assured that the government would explore all possibilities to address genuine demands in a time-bound manner.

Safina Baig, DDC Chairperson, Baramulla, and Musarat Kar, President Municipal Council Sopore, expressed their gratitude to the UT Administration led by Lt. Governor Sinha for its special focus on the development of Baramulla and Sopore.

The projects inaugurated by Lt. Governor Sinha include the Office Complex of MC Sopore worth Rs 1.96 crores, the development of a Park at Chinkipora Ward of MC Sopore costing Rs 40 lakhs, a Public Park at Mahrajpora valued at Rs 53.27 lakhs, an Open Air Gym Park near Bypass Bridge Upper Ashpeer worth Rs one crore, and the upgradation of Vohlutra Shutloo road including allied links at Vohlutra Arkharwari Valanwar Doniwar road, costing Rs 6.50 crores.

During the event, Lt. Governor Sinha also distributed sanction letters to beneficiaries under various schemes.

The event was attended by Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary; Sh. Vijay Kumar, ADGP Kashmir; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, senior officers, public representatives, and a large number of people.
