A young man has reportedly committed suicide in Pasni Tehsil of Gwadar district, Balochistan.
According to initial reports, the deceased has been identified as Zafar, son of Allah Bakhsh, a resident of Ward No. 2 in Pasni. Local sources confirmed that he ended his own life, though the specific circumstances leading to the tragedy remain unclear.
Authorities have yet to determine the exact reasons behind the suicide. However, incidents of self-harm and suicide have surged in the last few years across Balochistan. Some local sources claim that several cases of suicide in the region have been linked to harassment, pressure, blackmail, and other forms of psychological stress, allegedly by Pakistani security and intelligence agencies, particularly in areas experiencing heightened security operations and socio-political tensions. Furthermore, unemployment, poverty and the lack of basic facilities of life in the region also exacerbate the issue.
