Families of Baloch political prisoners have established a protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club, demanding the immediate release of their loved ones and an end to what they describe as “unconstitutional detentions” by the state.
According to the Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC), the protest camp has been set up to highlight the “illegal and unconstitutional imprisonment” of several Baloch activists, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Sibghatullah Shahji, Beebarg Baloch, Gulzadi Baloch, Beebow Baloch, and others.
The committee stated that the purpose of the camp is to raise voices against state “repression” and to call for the urgent release of these detainees. It emphasized that holding political workers in custody through extra-constitutional means amounts to a serious violation of human rights.
The organizers appealed to all segments of society in Quetta – including social and political activists, human rights defenders, and ordinary citizens – to join the camp and express solidarity with the affected families.
