The Islamic Emirate has called Pakistan’s statements about Afghanistan’s involvement in the attack on a passenger train in Balochistan irresponsible.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate urged Islamabad to address its internal challenges instead of accusing Afghanistan. The ministry also expressed regret over the killing of innocent people in this incident.
Zia Ahmad Takal, head of public relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: “We strongly reject the baseless accusations made by the spokesperson of the Pakistani army regarding the attack on a passenger train in Balochistan, attributing it to Afghanistan. We urge Pakistani authorities to focus on ensuring security and addressing their internal issues instead of making such irresponsible remarks.”
Earlier, the Pakistani military claimed that the attackers who targeted the train in Balochistan had received orders from Afghanistan.
Shafqat Ali, spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, called on the caretaker government of Afghanistan to hold accountable those responsible for financing and organizing the attack.
“There is no shift in our policy. And again, the facts have not changed. India is involved in sponsoring terrorism against Pakistan. What I was referring to was, in this particular incident, we have evidence of calls being traced to Afghanistan,” he stated.
“Pakistan’s rulers lobbied for Afghanistan for two and a half years based on good relations, and now conflicts are being managed under the premise that we are a threat. Terrorism is an international issue, and the world must fight against it, as Afghanistan is also affected by it,” said Zalmay Afghanyar, a political analyst.
On Tuesday, armed men affiliated with Baloch separatists attacked a train in Balochistan, Pakistan, taking more than 400 passengers hostage.
Following the attack, Pakistan announced that its military forces had eliminated all 33 attackers in a special operation.
