Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, in a meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate, assured Oman’s readiness to strengthen bilateral ties.

Zia Ahmad Takal, head of public relations at Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that both sides discussed facilitating Afghanistan’s exports to Oman, launching direct flights between the two countries, and creating necessary facilities to enhance cooperation.

He added: “The two sides held extensive discussions on strengthening political, economic, and social relations and expressed confidence in opening a new chapter of bilateral ties between Afghanistan and Oman.”

During the meeting, Muttaqi highlighted key achievements of the Islamic Emirate, including the end of war, the establishment of balanced relations with regional and global countries, and the enhancement of regional security. He also emphasized the need to create job opportunities for Afghan citizens in Oman, boost Afghan exports, and initiate direct flights between the two nations.

Economic expert Mohammad Karim Azimi said: “Some of our goods reach Arab markets indirectly through other countries. I am confident that with direct relations, reaching these markets will significantly boost our exports.”

Amir Khan Muttaqi arrived in Oman on Sunday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate said that the visit was made at the invitation of Oman’s foreign minister.
