Reports have emerged regarding the killing of Wafa Baloch, a resident of Paroom tehsil, Panjgur district, allegedly by Pakistani paramilitary forces near the Goldsmith Line, which separates western (Iran-administered) and eastern (Pakistan-administered) Balochistan.
According to the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), Wafa Baloch had previously been subjected to enforced disappearance for six months before being released. The organization claims that he was targeted while working as a border driver. BYC has described the incident as part of a broader pattern of violence and human rights violations in the region.
The group has called on the international community and human rights organizations to take notice of the situation in Balochistan and to hold authorities accountable for alleged extrajudicial actions.
There has been no immediate response from Pakistani security agencies regarding these claims. However, similar allegations of enforced disappearances and targeted killings have been a recurring issue in Balochistan, with human rights groups and local activists frequently raising concerns.
