A protest demanding the recovery of missing Balochistan National Party (BNP) political activists was staged at Zero Point in Pasni, Gwadar. The demonstration led to a road blockade, leaving hundreds of vehicles and passengers stranded on both sides. The protest has been temporarily called off after negotiations with the officials who assured the demonstrators that efforts will me made to ensure the recovery of the missing individuals.

The protest is being led by the Balochistan National Party (BNP) and the families of the missing individuals. BNP’s Publication Secretary, Waheed Majeed, and his two brothers remain missing, prompting demonstrators to block roads and call on transporters to suspend travel in support of their cause.

Last week, Pakistani forces allegedly took Waheed Majeed and his three brothers from their home. While one of the brothers has since been released, Waheed and two others are still missing.

Previously, protests were temporarily halted following negotiations with Haq Do Tehreek leaders. However, they have resumed due to the authorities’ failure to recover the missing individuals. Protesters are demanding immediate government action for their safe return.

However, following assurances from DSP Gwadar Malik Ahmed, the families of the missing BNP workers have decided to postpone their protest for two days, leading to the restoration of traffic on the Makran Coastal Highway.

The negotiations, which included Assistant Commissioner Pasni Muhim Ahmed Gichki, SDPO Pasni Circle Zahid Hussain, SHO Pasni Shakeeb Arsalan, SHO Saddar Police Station Khalid Hussain Dashti, and others, resulted in an agreement to temporarily suspend the sit-in. Officials assured the protesters that efforts would be made for the recovery of the missing individuals.
