Family members and relatives of a forcibly disappeared youth staged a protest in Pasni, Gwadar, on Sunday, demanding his immediate release. Demonstrators blocked the Karachi-bound highway at Pasni Zero Point, bringing traffic between Makuran and Karachi to a halt.

The protest was led by the family of Maqbool Anwar, who was allegedly detained by Pakistani security forces. Protesters, including women, called for an end to enforced disappearances in Balochistan.

According to demonstrators, security forces attempted to disperse the crowd. Some women participating in the protest claimed they were “physically assaulted” during the confrontation. Despite this, they vowed to continue their demonstration until their demands were met.

The protesters said they had reached out to local authorities regarding the disappearance of Maqbool Anwar but had received no response. They warned that their sit-in would continue indefinitely unless authorities took action to secure the safe return of their missing loved one.

As of now, local officials and Pakistani security forces have not issued any statement regarding the allegations.
