Today, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) Karachi Zone organized a massive rally in Sharafi Goth, Karachi, as part of the ongoing efforts to mobilize for the Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day, scheduled to be observed on January 25, 2025, in Dalbandin. Central leader Sammi Deen Baloch addressed the crowd, emphasizing the continuous struggle against state repression, enforced disappearances, and the unwavering resilience of the Baloch people in the face of systematic violence.
Despite facing severe state repression, BYC remains steadfast in its cause. On January 18, 2025, during a peaceful mobilization in Lyari, Karachi, Sindh Police launched a brutal crackdown on Baloch activists. Women protesters were unlawfully detained and harassed before being released late at night, while twelve male protesters, including BYC Deputy Organizer Lala Wahab Baloch, were sent on a three-day judicial remand. This harsh action was a clear attempt to suppress Baloch voices, but it will not deter the movement’s commitment to resisting injustice and honoring the victims of the Baloch genocide.
