The Baloch National Movement’s (BNM) human rights department, Paank, has published a report stating that 22 enforced disappearances and five extrajudicial killings took place in Balochistan throughout December 2024.
According to the report, the disappearances were recorded across six districts, with Kech reporting the highest number at 10. Gwadar followed with six cases, while Dera Bugti reported two, and Kharan and Hub each reported one case.
Paank alleged that Pakistani military forces and intelligence agencies were responsible for these enforced disappearances. The report also highlighted that many families choose to remain silent out of fear of repercussions, suggesting that the actual numbers could be higher than reported.
The report further detailed five extrajudicial killings, which Paank claimed were carried out by Pakistani forces. It identified Naveed Hameed and Zareef Umar among the victims in Kech, while Abdul Hameed, Zakir, and Dil Jan were reportedly killed in drone strikes in Panjgur.
Paank called for urgent international intervention, describing the situation in Balochistan as a severe and ongoing human rights crisis.
