Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, the Political Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus to discuss expanding cooperation between the two countries.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus expressed his country’s willingness to enhance ties with Afghanistan. Both sides agreed to continue discussions to broaden this cooperation.

Zia Ahmad Takal, Head of Public Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated: “Mr. Luka Shevich expressed his government’s positive intentions to establish a foundation for cooperation with Afghanistan in various fields. Both parties agreed that technical teams would continue their discussions in Kabul and Minsk to further develop these collaborations.”

Yesterday, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Belarus also met with the Deputy Minister for Supplies of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior to discuss security issues, countering narcotics, and fostering friendly relations between the two countries.

Some political analysts view the expansion of cooperation between Afghanistan’s caretaker government and Belarus as beneficial to the Islamic Emirate.

Jabar Akbari, a political analyst, stated: “The Islamic Emirate must strive to broaden its engagement with every country it builds ties with, expand its diplomatic relations globally, and work to attract international aid for Afghanistan.”

Jannat Faheem Chakari, another political analyst, said: “Without a doubt, Belarus is under Russia’s influence, and the extent to which Russia gives the green light will determine the interest of its allies.”

Some Central Asian countries that maintain close ties with Russia have established not only economic but also political relations with Afghanistan’s caretaker government over the past three years.
