Nooruddin Azizi, acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, spoke at the opening of the Istanbul Halal Expo in Turkey, emphasizing the importance of improving trade relations with Turkey and other countries.
The acting minister highlighted that Afghanistan’s participation in this event aims to create new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between Afghanistan, Turkey, and the region, introduce Afghanistan’s halal products, goods, and services to global markets, and attract foreign investment to Afghanistan.
Azizi stated that the Islamic Emirate seeks to strengthen economic and effective trade relations with neighboring, regional, and global countries through Islamic economics and halal trade.
These efforts aim to enhance the agricultural sector, develop infrastructure, support domestic industries, maintain financial stability, and encourage local and foreign investments in Afghanistan.
Nouruddin Azizi, acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, said: “The goal of Afghanistan’s delegation’s participation in this event is to create new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between Afghanistan, Turkey, and the region, introduce Afghanistan’s halal products, goods, and services to global markets, and attract foreign investment, especially from our friendly and brotherly nation of Turkey.”
Azizi also invited Turkey’s high-ranking officials and private sector representatives to visit Afghanistan and organize a joint exhibition in the country.
Nooruddin Azizi stated: “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strives to increase its trade volume with the Republic of Turkey. Therefore, we extend an official invitation to Turkey’s high-level delegation to visit Afghanistan alongside the private sector and participate in a major exhibition showcasing their domestic products.”
Several Afghan businessmen also highlighted the importance of Afghanistan’s private sector participation in the Istanbul Halal Expo for expanding and strengthening trade relations with Turkey.
Noor Ahmad Nouri, president of the Carpet Producers and Exporters Association, said: “This exhibition, visited by ministers and traders from 120 countries, is highly significant for Afghanistan’s carpet sector.”
The Istanbul Halal Expo, running from November 27 to 30, features more than 30 Afghan traders showcasing Afghanistan’s products, including carpets, precious and semi-precious stones, dried fruits, and banking services, across eight booths.
