Faisal Khamoosh, spokesperson for the Ministry of Martyrs and Disable Faisal Khamoosh, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled, stated that over 650,000 disabled individuals, orphaned children, and widowed women are currently registered with the ministry, of which more than 120,000 are individuals or family members of individuals who were with the previous government.
According to the spokesperson, 28,000 individuals who were not eligible to receive benefits have been identified and removed from the list.
Khamoosh also pledged that challenges faced by the families of martyrs and disabled persons in the country will be addressed.
“Currently, the salaries of widows, disabled individuals, and orphans are being transparently distributed in the provinces, including the capital, through the banking system,” said Faisal Khamoosh.
“It’s been 10 years since my husband was martyred. I have four children. Over these 10 years, the salary we’ve received has been sufficient,” said Marzia, whose husband died in the country’s conflicts and who now cares for four family members.
Other disabled individuals affected by the country’s wars have called on the Islamic Emirate to provide more facilities for disabled people and orphans.
“I lost my legs for the sake of the country. We are currently satisfied with the Emirate because it provides our salaries. However, we request the Emirate to increase our salaries because we face many life challenges.” Said Nabiullah, a disabled person in Kabul.
“My eye has been damaged and doesn’t function. I ask the Emirate to create job opportunities for us,” said Jahan Zeb, another disabled individual.
According to officials at the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled, over the past year, 28,000 individuals who were not eligible to receive benefits for martyrs and disabled persons have been removed from the ministry’s list.
