Thirteen people, including two women, died and dozens were injured on Tuesday in separate shooting and accident incidents across Balochistan.
A major collision between a van and a Mazda truck on the Dera Murad Jamali-Jacobabad highway in Belpat claimed four lives. Police attended the scene and transported the bodies and injured to Dera Murad Jamali Civil Hospital.
Separately, a vehicle carrying wedding guests from Nushki to Aminabad, Chagai, crashed, resulting in the deaths of two people, including a woman. Six others, including children, were seriously injured. The injured were initially treated at Prince Fahad Hospital in Dalbandin before being transferred to Quetta.
Meanwhile, in Quetta’s Nawa Killi Teacher Colony, an unidentified assailant entered a home and fatally shot a woman, identified as Bibi Baran, before fleeing the scene. Her body was taken to the hospital and later handed over to her family.
Additionally, near the Sorhap checkpoint in Washuk district’s Naag Tehsil, a collision between oil-laden vehicles triggered a fire that charred all occupants. According to the Assistant Commissioner, the number of fatalities could be four to five, although identification was not possible due to the fire. Levies officials said the fire could not be controlled due to a lack of firefighting facilities.
In another incident in Quetta’s Sariab Customs area, unidentified attackers opened fire on a vehicle, killing one person from the Rahja tribe and injuring three others.
Similarly, on the Coastal Highway near Menji in Ormara, a high-speed Corolla traveling from Gwadar to Karachi suffered a tire burst, resulting in a crash.
Coastal Highway Police provided immediate assistance. One passenger, identified as Ali Ghulam from Tando Adam, Sindh, did not survive. Treatment for three others, including Gul Hassan from Hub Chowki, Noor Muhammad from Tando Adam, and Muhammad Abbas from Hub, is ongoing.
