The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority has signed six cooperation agreements with the Ministry of Interior, the Prison Administration, the Academy of Sciences, Islamic Bank of Afghanistan, National Bank, and a private institution.
Ghulam Haidar Shahamat, head of the Afghanistan Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority, said that these agreements provide facilities such as educational opportunities for male and female prisoners, strengthening scientific relations, offering technical and vocational training to addicts, developing the country’s financial system, and accelerating the process of food allowance payments for the students and trainees of this administration.
With the signing of these agreements, professional training opportunities will be made available to both male and female prisoners.
Speaking about the agreements, Ghulam Haidar Shahamat said: “The agreement with the Prison Administration addresses one of our major social challenges—the harsh conditions of prisoners due to the lack of programs for their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.”
The acting head of the Afghanistan Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority also highlighted the importance of these agreements for the country’s progress.
Shahamat added: “These initiatives can significantly help in creating new job opportunities and reducing the unemployment rate. All of today’s agreements are geared toward a common goal: building a better future for Afghanistan. These collaborations reflect a commitment to the economic, social, and scientific development of the country.”
It is noteworthy that with the implementation of these agreements, job opportunities will be provided for the youth in the country, and on the other hand, needy individuals will also benefit from these agreements.
