A young Baloch girl has been seriously injured in alleged firing by Pakistani forces in Balochistan’s Kech district, prompting protests and a blockade of the CPEC highway.

The incident occurred on Thursday night in the Tajeban area, where shelling reportedly injured Muskan, the daughter of Char Shambay. She was taken to Karachi for medical treatment.

In response, locals blocked the CPEC M-8 highway on Friday, staging a sit-in protest. Protesters have said they will not end their demonstration until military posts in the area are removed.

Military Operations Underway in Kolwah

Meanwhile, Pakistani military forces have launched a large-scale operation in the Kolwah area of Kech.

Local sources say the operation began on Thursday, involving significant troop movements and the deployment of gunship helicopters.

They later reported that large numbers of troops have entered Kolwah and nearby regions, accompanied by at least three helicopters.

Pakistani authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the operation or its objectives.
