During a briefing on the ministry’s achievements over the past year, officials from the Ministry of Interior said today (Tuesday) that neighboring and regional countries have been unable to provide evidence of any threats originating from Afghanistan. They emphasized that Afghanistan poses no threat to other nations.
Ministry officials also declared that ISIS has been eradicated in Afghanistan, with the group’s activities reduced to zero.
Abdul Matin Qani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, said: “We all know that these accusations are baseless and unfounded. If they have evidence, let them present it. We are confident that, thanks to God, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has the best relations with neighboring countries, and we hope to maintain and strengthen these relations.”
In this program, Mohammad Nabi Omari, the First Deputy Minister of Interior, said: “Thanks to complete security, the Islamic system prevails across the entire country. Not an inch of our land can be used to create insecurity.”
Abdul Matin Qani also said that over the past year, the crime rate across the country has decreased by 30%.
According to the ministry’s statistics, over the past year, security forces have arrested more than 70 kidnappers and killed over 30 others in clashes with security personnel. The ministry also reported the seizure of 4,000 tons of narcotics, the destruction of 800 drug production facilities, and the arrest of over 10,000 suspects across the country.
“The police forces have also made significant progress in combating criminal activities compared to the previous year, resulting in a 30% reduction in crime nationwide, which is a significant achievement, thanks to God,” the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior added.
Qani further noted that nearly 2,000 fires occurred across the country in the past year, causing more than 3.204 billion afghani in damages to citizens. He also mentioned that more than 28,000 police vehicles and 740 various types of weapons have been reactivated.
Qani said: “344 kilograms of various types of narcotics and over one kilogram of gold were seized at airports and land ports in different cases, leading to the arrest of 591 individuals in connection with these incidents.”
The Ministry of Interior also reported that over the past year, more than one million passports were issued to applicants. Additionally, the ministry successfully prevented the smuggling of over one million dollars, more than 800,000 euros, and 4.83 million Saudi riyals at Kabul Airport. In connection with these incidents, nearly 600 individuals were arrested, and over one kilogram of gold, along with other narcotics, was seized.
