Fazal Mohammad Saber has been accepted as the Chargé d’Affaires of the Islamic Emirate’s Embassy in Ashgabat by the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate stated that Turkmenistan Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov emphasized the necessity of enhancing diplomatic relations between Kabul and Ashgabat and added that Turkmenistan and Afghanistan are planning to implement major projects.
Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, regarding the acceptance of the Chargé d’Affaires, said: “Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, His Excellency Rashid Meredov, accepted Fazal Mohammad Saber as the Chargé d’Affaires of the Islamic Emirate’s Embassy. Meredov mentioned during the ceremony that Afghanistan and Turkmenistan are on the verge of launching significant projects.”
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ press release, Meredov expressed hope that with joint diplomatic efforts between Ashgabat and Kabul, practical work on the TAPI, TAP projects, and the Torghundi-Herat railway will soon commence.
Will Turkmenistan’s acceptance of the Islamic Emirate’s Chargé d’Affaires benefit the relations between the two countries?
Sayed Abdul Muqaddam Amin, a political analyst, told TOLOnews: “Diplomatic relations are linked to the recognition process. However, it is common for countries to support each other in diplomatic domains, but this cannot be considered a recognition process.”
Jannat Faheem Chakari, a political analyst, said: “The Islamic Emirate should extend the same constructive and active policy it has towards neighboring and regional countries to global countries to move closer to gaining official recognition.”
Previously, the interim government of Afghanistan had introduced Fazal Mohammad Saber as the acting Chargé d’Affaires of the Islamic Emirate’s Embassy in Turkmenistan.
